Overview Mont Albert is one of the highest peaks in the Chic-Choc mountains of Quebec. Though within a day and a halfs drive from anywhere in the Northeastern US they remain almost completely unknown outside of the backcountry skiing 83%(16). In contrast to the Mont-Tremblant gneiss, these suites are dominated by tonalitic to granodioritic compositions with lower SiO 2 (∼60–70 wt%). They also have higher Na 2 O (up to 7 wt%) and lower K 2 O (less than 3 wt%) than those of the Mont-Tremblant gneiss, which have Na 2 O > 5 wt% and K 2 O of 3–6 wt%, in addition to having high FeO*/ by: 5.
